This page is intended to provide you with information about 1st team matches and other events that will hopefully be of interest to any low handicap golfers in Berkshire. Please do get in touch if you have not received info about the upcoming matches and would like to get involved.

Training

There will be some training organised in the next 4 months up to County Week. Details will appear here once this has been confirmed.

Further sessions may be held in the autumn, tba.

Friendly Matches

Saturday 12th March v Wellington College at Wellington. (1st/2nd Squad)

Sunday 13th March v Reading Men at Reading GC.  Singles (1st/2nd Squad)

Monday 2nd May v Mill Ride men at Mill Ride. Morning Foursomes and Afternoon Singles (1st/2nd Squad)

TBC v Wiltshire 1st Team. 2 Foursomes and 3 Singles (1st Squad)

Saturday 28th May v Middlesex at East Berkshire. 8 Players, format tbc (1st/2nd Squad)

Midland South County Matches.

These are the main matches for the 1st Team and are held in June each year when we play the 1st Teams from Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire & Herefordshire to determine who will represent the Midland South region in the England Golf Women County Finals. The format of each match is 2 foursomes and 3 singles.

2022 was hosted by Leamington & County Golf Club  from 13 – 15 June.

This years County Week  report can be found here with full results and pictures. The team had a successful week coming 4th against some strong opposition. Next years event we will be hosting, we are looking for help so if you think you would like to help or find out more please contact me or Donna Hunt. The venue is Sonnign Golf Club and the dates are 19th – 21st June 2023.

1st/2nd Team v Middlesex

This friendly 1st/2nd Team match was played on a beautifully sunny, though rather hot, afternoon at Sudbury Golf Course. Played team of eight.
