Berkshire Seniors team put up a solid performance against Oxfordshire Seniors team at Royal Ascot. It was an extremely hard fought contest with 4 of the 7 singles matches being finalised on the 18th green.
The team was represented by Linda Hunt, Tracy Crew, Sheree Dove-Wilde, Jane Sly, Gillian Godson, Charlie Keenan and Lucy Dunn-Sims. Special mention must be made of Lucy who won her match on her debut for the county team and Sheree who won her match 8 up with 7 to play.
This means we have now played 3 of our 4 league matches. We beat Bucks 5 & 2 and narrowly lost 4 & 3 to Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. Our final league match will be against Hampshire on the 1st of August at the Caversham and is likely to be a must win match if we are to win the league this year.
Huge thanks to Royal Ascot Golf Club who hosted us magnificently. The course was in good shape after all the rain we’ve had and the staff made us extremely welcome with a super meal to follow play.
On Wednesday 10th May we have a Seniors friendly match against Surrey at The Drift – good luck to those selected. Match report will follow.
