Berkshire Seniors travelled to play Hertfordshire Seniors at Welwyn Garden City GC – a rather hilly but very attractive parkland course.
Each match was well contested with 4 of the 7 matches going to the 17th hole and 1 concluding on the 18th. Despite our best efforts we lost the fixture 4 matches to 3.
Special thanks must go to Gillian Godson and Claire Randall who stepped in to the team at 24 hours notice to cover injury and illness following the county championship weekend at The Berkshire.
Our team was Linda Hunt, Sheree Dove-Wilde, Katherine Irving, Jane Sly, Jules Tarr, Gillian Godson and Claire Randall.
Worthy of mention is that 5 out of the 16 who qualified for the county championships in the Tegner Trophy were seniors (Laura, Tracy, Jane, Linda and Katherine) with Laura being runner up.
Next match is against Oxfordshire at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, the 2nd of May.
