Monday 25th July at Temple Golf Club
Our thanks to Temple Golf Club – Keith, the manager, Adrian and Stan in the office, for hosting our very popular Presidents Salvers competition. All their staff were extremely helpful as always, and added to the success of the day. Thanks, particularly, go to Francis and George and their bar team for looking after us so well and keeping us hydrated, and of course Liam – the chef who provided the wonderful buffet lunch.
We had cooler weather for the event which was happily received by the players – after the 40 degrees of this time last week! Players commented on the lovely the course was, and our thanks go to the green keepers for maintaining the course in such difficult conditions. 72 players were registered to play from the Berkshire clubs, making a very competitive field.
Airlie Dyson, our BCLGA president presented the prizes to the worthy winners, with some excellent scores, and they are:
Winners: Carol Smith and Sally Puxley form Bradfield College with 51 points
2nd Place: Sue Wright & Marion Hardy from Temple GC with 46 points
3rd Place: Carol Taylor & Jane Dunwoody form Goring & Streatley GC with 45 points ocb
4th Place: Carol Broadhead ( Reading GC) & Wilma Reed ( Castle Royle) with 45 points ocb.
