The Club at Mapledurham

Sunday morning did not start well with driving rain and high winds. However, by late morning, the rain had stopped just in time for our first tee, and the sun even tried to make an appearance during the afternoon. Our thanks go to all the staff at The Club at Mapledurham who warmly welcomed all our competitors – and special thanks goes to Chris Lee and his team, who provided a sumptuous post-match fayre enjoyed by one and all.
It was a small field of 8 brilliant teams, who all commented how lovely the course conditions were. And it was a tight finish with the top two teams being separated by count back, not just the back nine, but then the back 6!!!
Tracy Crew, our sensational Seniors Captain, visited at the end of the afternoon to present the prizes.
Winners: Kay Knowles, Maidenhead, Pat Jenkins, Castle Royle, and Penny Bennett, Royal Ascot with 76 points on count back
Second Place: Clare Randell, Sonning, Pat Bennett, Reading, and Fay Unsworth, Donnington Grove with 76 points.
