BLCGS v Oxfordshire 28 JuneOur third match of the season was played at Sand Martins Golf Club against the Oxfordshire Captains. The weather was overcast and a little breezy. Really good weather for playing golf. The course hadn’t seen much rain so the fairways were firm and the greens were running fast.Unfortunately the Oxon VC was ill so I played with my partner, Carol Taylor against the Oxon Captain who gallantly played on her own. At the 16th tee there is an opportunity to return to the clubhouse. Whilst some of the matches were over by the time we reached the 16th fairway all of of the players continued to play 18 holes. At the end of a competitive round the last 3 holes can be the most challenging. Two par fives and a par 3 over water are a tough test for most players.
