Berkshire Seniors team travelled to The Drift near Guildford this week for a friendly match against Surrey Seniors.
The team was represented by 4 pairs playing scratch 4 ball better ball: Elspeth Cooper & Jacqui Quilter, Lucy Dunn-Sims & Judy Crawley, Julie Butt & Penny Johnston, Cathy Jones & Muriel Quinsac. A good mix of players from across the county including 3 from Castle Royle, 2 from Sand Martins and 1 from each of Reading, Sonning and Temple,
Following the huge volumes of rain, the course was pretty tricky being very wet in places although the team managed to stay largely dry on the day and enjoyed the challenge and company (see photo below) despite a 4-0 loss.
I’m told afternoon cake was a delight and I enjoyed a very good practice session in their state of the art driving range which is quite magnificent.
