County Team 2023

It is with great pleasure I can announce the players who will represent Berkshire at this years Midland South County Week. This year we are hosting it and is being held from 19th June – 21st June at Sonning Golf Club. We will play 5 other counties is a series of matches over the 2 1/2 days. The counties are Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

This year we are have some new players becoming available to play for the County, so some of the names may be new to you.  It is very much appreciated that players are taking time off work or school,  some players have exams during the 3 days!   This has resulted in us being able to put out a balanced team of youth and experience.

For those new to County Week, this competiton dates back many years and is where Counties  compete against each other to represent their region at the England Golf Finals.  Over the years it has changed from a full week of competition where you used to play one county a day in foursomes in the morning, singles in the afternoon.  Nowadays, the matches are played over 2 1/2 days, and you play a county over just 5 matches: the format is 2 foursomes and 3 singles matches, giving 5 points on offer.
