prize table

Today saw our Centenary Day come together, with 63 ladies playing in each of our morning and afternoon competitions.
We were lucky with the weather and delighted with the help offered by Catherine Hollingsworth and her fabulous ‘army’ of volunteers.

Hole in one prizes were offered on each of the Par 3 holes, with the major prize of £10,000 being offered on the 8th hole. Sadly none were claimed, but a number of two’s were recorded.

Mizuno were sponsors of our prizes, and our thanks have been sent.

We had 21 clubs represented in the morning having invited each club in Berkshire to enter a team and were delighted to have teams from Eton College golf club and Windsor Great Park join us.

Morning winners were the team from Sandmartins, 2nd place Mill Ride, 3rd place Sonning
Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 18th winners, Carol from Goring & Streatley, and Sarah from Donnington Grove

Afternoon winners were a team from Maidenhead, 2nd place Newbury & Crookham, 3rd place Donnington Grove
Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 18th winners, Pauline from Sonning, and Susan from Maidenhead.

We presented Temple with a plaque which has already taken its place in the hallway of the club house thanking them for their involvement in today, and indeed for all their support over the last 100 years. Temple along with East Berkshire, Sonning and Maidenhead were the founding members of our wonderful county. You can read more on our history on our website here – BCLGA | Brief History of The Association | 1922 – 2020

Thank you to everyone for your involvement. The celebrations will continue at our County Dinner in November, see you there.
