CAPTAIN’S WELCOME – Updated NOVEMBER 2020
LADIES,
I do hope that you have found your way to our pages without too much trouble. The County website has undergone quite a facelift over the summer and some of the pathways have definitely changed!
If anybody finds they are struggling to navigate, please don’t suffer in silence. My contact details are below for a reason – I want you to feel comfortable asking me anything and I’ll do what I can to help you. You can also now use the contact forms on this page to communicate via the web page with all the officers in our Society.
I hope that you’ve all stayed well and that you’ve managed to get out to enjoy some golf over the few weeks in the summer when we were actually ‘allowed out’! I know that being locked down again has been a big frustration to many, but let’s try to be positive about next year, now that a vaccine is on the horizon and look forward to a full programme of golf with our Society. You will see on this page that we have a full calendar of events in place for 2021, and early in the New Year we hope to get all the details on the website, for you to enter the events and matches.
During this ‘quiet’ time, your Committee has taken the decision to move towards electronic communication and we feel the time is now right to say goodbye to our annual membership packs and use emails instead. Let me emphasize again, that we don’t want anybody to feel excluded by this move, so I and the Committee are always available to give advice and help you sort things out. Please just pick up the phone!
I should also mention here that Jenny our Secretary successfully relocated north during the summer, to be near her family. Irene Manson has gamely taken over her role and with great efficiency and good humour is masterminding all the new IT issues that I know very little about! We are really grateful for her coming aboard, especially at this time, and we will be ratifying her appointment at next year’s AGM.
That’s it for now. Autumn has been quite stunning with unusually warm (if at times wet) weather and we can but hope that the wonderful glut of berries, fruits and autumn seeds is not in fact signaling a long hard winter. Whatever happens, please stay well and safe and enjoy either your bracing walks or cosy hibernation until we meet again…..☀
