BLCGS v Surrey Match Report
12 May BERKS v SURREY
Our 2022 season started with a match against Surrey at Burhill Golf Club, Walton on Thames. This club has two courses and on the day we played the Old Course which is a parkland course full of majestic trees. It made a change to hear the parakeets squawking overhead rather than the cry of the red kites in Berkshire. We were blessed with dry weather and occasional sunshine. The clubhouse is a former stately mansion of the Guinness family.
The grandest clubhouse I have been in for a while and the hospitality and catering matched the surroundings. All the matches were closely fought but Surrey eventually came out on top and Berks lost 5-3.
