Unfortunately, although I started the match against Hampshire, I was unwell and had to leave the course after only two holes. In some ways this worked out well as the Hampshire Captain, Marilyn Monger, was playing on her own because one of her players had to pull out at the very last minute. With my departure, Ann Pennell played a singles match against Marilyn Monger and they both said how much they enjoyed their game.
I was so disappointed that I was unable to play in BLCGS first match at Winter Hill, my home club. After all the upheaval earlier in the year, there have been changes and uncertainties, and we are not sure what the future holds. But the day went very smoothly and the new owners, GetGolfing, were helpful and friendly. I did manage to return and joined the players for Afternoon Tea, which the majority of the ladies enjoyed. There was a great atmosphere in the club house, and the Hampshire ladies really enjoyed playing at Winter Hill, thought the course was in excellent condition, and remarked on the wonderful views from every hole.
I would like to thank Ann Pennell for recording the scores and I am delighted that BLCGS won 4.5 to 3.5, our first win so far. Thank you so much to all the ladies who played, especially those who played at very short notice.
