BLCGS Autumn Meeting Report 2023

The BLCGS Autumn Meeting was held on the 27th September at Winter Hill Golf Club.  There were 43 players and the slightly lower number was possibly due to the confusion when the out of date information concerning the date and venue had not been taken off the Website. My apologies for this error. However the correct date and venue was on the entry form  Also there was a clash of dates with the start of the Scratch League Matches.

There was good support from the Committee on the day,  and two committee members played in the event.  Margaret Edwards, our President, greeted the players as they arrived and  I was pleased to be the starter.  Judy Wilton organised the day and was assisted by Lucy Robson, from Bearwood Lakes, who helped with registration and recording the results.

The golf course was in excellent condition, and the weather was fine, and this helped the day go well. The players seemed to enjoy the day and I am delighted that everyone stayed for the meal and for the Prize Giving.  The rolling buffet was enjoyed and everyone’s dietary requirements were well catered for. I am so pleased to say that Joao and the staff at Winter Hill did an excellent job and helped to make the day a success.

The software worked very well, and it was only the winner of the Dorothy Gunnersen Trophy that had  to be worked out by hand. I am sure that this slight hitch will be resolved by next year.

The weather was still pleasant enough for the attached photograph of all the winners to be taken outside on the patio.

The winners were:
