First Summer Meeting – The Downshire Golf Complex
It was a real pleasure to catch up with all who took part in the Meeting at the beginning of this month. Sadly we were not able to have our usual buffet lunch due to restrictions still being in place. The Committee have received quite a few comments about the quality of the lunch provided, and we must apologise for this. Understandably they were very restricted on what they could provide, and were also dealing with a lack of staff as we were just coming out of lockdown. I don’t want to make excuses for this but I think they did the best they could under the circumstances. We have of course highlighted the issue with the Downshire.
So far two matches have been played which have resulted in a win against Hampshire at Castle Royle and a draw against Wiltshire at The Wiltshire. Thank you to all who took part. We have a further three matches against the Berkshire Lady Captains at Sonning, Oxfordshire and the Reading District Men both at Castle Royle. Good luck to all those who have signed up and been selected to play.
Autumn Meeting – Castle Royle
The final meeting of the year (and my Captaincy) is being held on Thursday 23rd September. It would be lovely to see as many of you as possible. There is a restriction to numbers, so please enter asap.
Our current Treasurer is retiring from her role at the end of this year. If you would be interested in joining the Committee, please do contact me or any of the Committee.
Second Summer Meeting – Mill Ride
I look forward to catching up with all those playing on Wednesday 11th August. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us.
