1ST TEAM

County Week Team 2015 The County First Team squad play a series of friendly matches in the Spring prior to competing in County Match Week in June. As part of the Midland South region of England Golf, during County Week Berkshire will compete in matches against Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcester & Hereford. The winning team then goes on to represent the region in the County Finals in September.

2ND TEAM

The County 2nd Team plays in a number of friendly matches against neighbouring counties. The most important matches take place between late Spring and late Summer, when participating in the Midland South 2nd Team League.

SENIORS TEAM

The Seniors Team plays four league matches against Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire. In addition, they play a number of friendly matches as well as entering a team into the Inter County Championship.

JUNIORS TEAM

Junior County Team 2015 The Juniors have both a scratch team and a 'handicap' team for player with higher handicaps. They both play matches against neighbouring counties and compete in Midland South regional competitions.

TEAMS NEWS

2nd Team Match vs Oxfordshire The first of the league matches was against Oxfordshire at Henley Golf Club on 2ndJune2019.

As is our practice we fielded juniors and experienced 2nd team players. Unfortunately, we found Oxfordshire fielded a few of their 1st team (but eligible to play 2nd team), so we knew we were going to have a tough time against them.

2nd Team Match vs. Hampshire

Our annual friendly match against Hants was played at Temple Golf Club on 29thMay 2019. The match was played in dry(am)and then wet conditions as the heavens opened up for the afternoon singles. It was great to have some new juniors play this year and start to see them move the teams. We had 7 players as Ann Williams couldn't stay for the afternoon, so Lucinda Dashwood stepped in to play in the singles.

1st/2ndTeam Match v. MiddlesexThis friendly match was played on a beautifully sunny, though rather hot, afternoon at Sudbury Golf Course, which is near Wembley Stadium and has wonderful views of the City of London in the distance as well as the occasional glimpse of the arch on the Stadium.

Our first match of the season, a friendly against Hampshire at Arlesford Golf Club, was played in beautiful weather, once the early morning fog had cleared. As ever, Hampshire fielded a strong side and unfortunately we were weakened by injuries and work and other commitments.
