ABOUT BCLGA!

As a County Golf Association we are part of the wider structure linking golfers and clubs to England Golf – the umbrella organisation responsible for men’s and women’s golf at regional and national level in England.

BCLGA and Berkshire Girls Golf (BGG – the junior section of BCLGA) are run by Committees of Volunteers with the aim of promoting golf for women and girls from beginners right through to elite players. The Association organises a Calendar of Events each year: these include competitions for members of Golf Clubs affiliated to BCLGA and matches for 1st Team, 2nd Team, Seniors Team and Juniors Team players.

The highlight of the year is County Week in June, when the 1st teams of the six counties of our Midlands South region (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and the ‘joint’ county of Worcester &Hereford battle it out over three days of foursomes and singles matchplay golf, providing a wonderful spectator opportunity for golf fans.
